Question ZJ on LPG/ULP worth a look?

Hi gang,

due to budget restraints my Jeep search has become one for a ZJ Laredo and I found this one on Dual Fuel but it is 900km away. Given my driving is only about 100km a week city and a monthly highway cruise around 200km with the odd interstate trip each year.

Lets say in a year i'd do 6000 city/ 4000 hwy, is the gas worth considering seeing it's already installed?

I probably wouldn't bother converting if I find a good buy on ULP only.

MooreyfiveO. test drive it before you buy it. if its ok, its ok. But, if its got a tiny petrol tank to accomodate the gas tank, i would avoid it. One thing worse than having a small bladder, is having a small fuel tank.
Personally, i love gas, as long as it is installed and tuned correctly, as it a lot more friendly on the engine, wallet, and easier to drive in general.

I disagree, with a lot hotter combustion temperatures & as yet i have to find a suitable spark plug to suit. also see if he's had an upper cyl lubricant injection fitted, this will reduce combustion temp & lubricate the top end as gas burns dry!
also you have the added exspence of at least 2 tune ups a year ($30 a time)
my ford is now on its second head (alloy) since being fitted with gas (its had a upper cyl injection kit fitted from day one) so that tells you something, i have not gained any benifit (financually) with the ford.
also if the LPG tank is fitted under the back of the jeep you will lose a lot of departure angle even with mine that has a 2" lift & polyair fitted.

Must be thinking same as you as I have emailed owner about the size of the ULP tank. The LPG is 60ltr which he reckons he gets 200-250km out of so I assume thats 60ltr tank with about 50ltr usable, it's situated under the boot behind the ULP tank. Would that mean smaller ULP tank?

Test drive is a bit hard as it is in Adelaide and i'm in Melbourne. Might have to see if there's a willing AJOR member out there to drive for me.

Here is photo of tank location, i assume stock tank removed to fit LPG??? Also guessing now that it's an 80 litre tank with 60 usable???

Says servicing done and gas fitted at Cliffs Auto near him - he's in West Lakes Shores does anyone know it?
