Default Wheel and tyre specs.

I have put this together with help from many members and believe the information below to be correct.
Although "mostly right" it must be regarded as a work in progress or a Beta version of the final product.
As such if you buy wheels from a different model to put on your jeep it is up to you to independently verify that they will fit.
All care and no responsibility.

Tire size for lift height for various lifts across the Jeep models is covered here:

BACKSPACE TO OFFSET CONVERSION TABLE

And finally;

If you are going to post an add, how about listing backspace and a picture?

Listing backspace lets people who own other models of jeep other than your own know weather your wheels will be good for them=increase your market.

While you know what a "insert model here" 16" alloy looks like 80% of the people viewing the add probably do not.
Pictures of most Stock jeep wheels can be found here - http://www.quadratec.com/manufacture...eels/index.htm

If you believe any of the info in this post to be incorrect let please let me know (via PM) and we can talk about it.

Also if you have used stock wheels from a different make on your jeep I am very interested in hearing about it as I would like to include that info in this post somewhere.

Other stock OEM wheels.

Ford explorer (UN) Alloys from late ’90 vehicle. fitted to a XJ (5x4.5" ).
16x7 J with an offset of 12. (=a backspace of 4.5”)
Running 255/70/16 (30x10x16) and the rear are just in the flares. The fronts on the other hand are just outside the flare, but only by the bulging sidewall. This was on a pre-update but should be fine for post updates as well.
Thanks to bruggz351
***********I put these on mine and had to remove less than 1mm of material from the center hole of the rims. This allowed the rim to mount the center lip on the 8.25 axle, thewheels fitted the front disks fine as is,but I bored out all 5 rims. Just used a flap wheel in a drill. For tyres I used a second hand set of General Grabber 235/85/16 (9.25"X31.7"-stock defender tyre) sits under the guards and there is no rubbing at full lock. Used the ford nuts. *****************

Ford falcon EB 15x7 Xr6/8 Alloy rims fitted to a XJ (5x4.5" ).
From memory they are 4.25" backspacing, they do require the small inner lip (approx 2mm wide) to be removed which I removed with a die grinder.
I currently run 225/75/15's (28x9x15) on them and the fronts are slightly proud of the flares but only the sidewalls not the tread.
The only real issue is the wheel nuts, you need to use the factory Ford nuts due to the shape and length of them but they fit using the original nuts.
Thanks to Jungle juice.

XJ Classic has 16 x 7 but still 5.25" backspace runs 225/70 x 16 to achieve same height as 225/75 x 15 approx 720 - 721mm or 28.3"

Default Link to calculate backspace and offsett

this may help compare some tyre/rim changes to what you have, their approximate wheel and tyre weights are under estimated compared to off road rims and mud tyres, but not by a lot, still quite helpful

http://www.mrw-wheels.com/wheel%20te...t%20chart.html inserted as next one does not load every time anymore
