Wow, well, I'm surprised at the current tally.

Very interesting. Keep the votes and opinions coming for sure.

Maybe I won't be shelling out as much as I thought you'd be getting me to do after all.

Warn M8274. Holds more rope/cable, no heat build up from the brake, fast line speed, easy to mod if you want. Only down side is it's weight but I could live with that.

depends on your budget, and how often you think you'd use it, I'd love a highmount, but have been wheeling for just over 2 years now and only could have used a winch once and in the end managed to get up without the winch, in saying that you can't go wrong with the warn name but again price is high, the Runva is a great winch that I'm yet to hear much bad feed back on. Horses for courses i guess... have you looked at the new Warn Zeon range??? The Zeon 10s or a highmount is what i'll go when the time comes i guess

letting a forum poll decide what to buy is stupid as most people will vote for what they use or what they sell or what their mates sell . buy what you like

i dont think any of the chinese winches meet their stated specs that they claim in regards to motor power , current draw or line speed .

if you have the coin then simply just buy an xp9.5s or m8274 as they are the best you can buy without going to the extent of buying a gigglepin gp84 . or if they are out of your budget then the avenger mako 9.5 is about the best bang for your buck chinese winch you can get and has the best freespool mechanism of ANY lowmount winch on the market .

also dont over winch yourself buy fitting a 12000 pound winch or higher on a jeep as they are geared very deep and are stupidly slow and boring to use .

I love the look of the CTI and how compact it is for the returns in power. Not to mention that is one solenoid pack that won't shake itself to death on the coragations. Where is the solenoid for the Runva EWX9500-Q EVOLUTION located? I think I might have a look at a new CTI myself now that you have raised the question. My old Magnum is getting on a bit, even if it hasent had a great deal of work during that lifetime.

Thanks for voting everyone.

Basically I got no patience, and have called it.

Warn 8274-50 it is.

I was leaning to that one anyway, and it got the most votes.

Now who are the vendors in here I should approach for one? I'll probably buy local now, instead of sneaking one from the US. I like the idea of supporting a forum supporter.
