It will be pretty simple to work out once its off.
Got rid of mine on my XJ diesel back a while ago, still find that I put my foot on the clutch when starting. ~ old habits die hard ! You need to bridge the contacts.

I looked at mine. I cut the remaining plug off and just joined the wires. Like it never existed!

Hmmm, sounds like I'm gonna need some help then. Me and electrics don't mix. Thanks for the info, it would be handy to get rid of it.

You can just stick a blade fuse in the plug.
