Visited my local junk yard and noticed dead KJ with interesting stereo.

$40 later I got myself cool upgrade to GPS system. it even came with manual and software disk.

Now im my jeep. Even plays ipad MP3s conencted via changer port.

The mapping software is hopelessly outdated. GPS systems have gone long way over the last 20 years, but still looks pretty, plays good quality music and can point you towards the saved point in off road situation.

How did this wire up to the steering buttons and factory amp?
I've wired plenty of stereos over the years, but don't wanna wreck the stock controls

I'd expect it would be a plug and play operation and everything would work as it would be compatible.

The phrase "fit the belt" in the context of the 2.7 always makes me shudder. It's a freaking puzzle!

I keep the diagram from the manual in the glovebox in case I need to do it roadside. I carry a spare belt tucked in with the spare wheel.
