Default The Deddick Trail - Snowy's

Spent the Easter weekend exploring some of the Snowy's

Great weather all 3 days, drove from Sydney through Jindy, alpine Nat park into the Snowy's. The Deddick trail was great and did the Bowen track.

Some steep inclines, dry loose rocky surface, all in all not too challenging.

Can't wait to head back!

What your pictures show is the Deddick fire 14 months on. it was started by lightning & DSE/DEPI/PARKS VIC did nothing about controlling it for about 2 weeks until the weather turned bad & it had become a catastrophic wild fire. We ended up with more of Vectoria on fire than the metro area from Geelong to past Dandenong.

Yeah right, that's incredible! The fire burned trees could be seen as far as the eye could and further.

It is amazing though, through this devastation the bush regenerates fast in 14 months. The undergrowth was high (because there was no canopy) and the trees were well and truly on their way back.

The fire must have been huge! These trees were really large and with no canopy left the flames would have been insane!
