Default Cnc Plasma Cutter

hey all
HAS anyone here built a CNC PLASMA CUTTER im thinking of making a home built one hobby size
anyone got any suggestions.......

forget it unless you have 3 phase power a 240 volt machine can't jump the arc well enough. The cheapest one I have seen done was also over 10 thou
so it still isn't really a hobbie machine. Best bet is to get a good plasma and
just try different size tip's to get good fine cut's. Free hand is still pretty neat.

Try and find a copier like the older letter copiers where you have a heap of letters or numbers and you run the point around them and the second arm milled it out. you could use that with a plasma, just have to make patterns.

beeing an electrician u shouldnt have to have 3 phase im only talking a small
table nothing fancy

240 volt machines will not jump the arc to start cutting (no high freq.) 3 phase are the only way a CNC set up will work properly. Been tried and failed many time's. CNC need's to run approx. about 2mm above the material minimium for allowance's. Hence the need for for it to be able jump an arc and cut at the same time. 240 volt machines really are only affective when dragging along the plate. 40 amps also wont cut fast enough as well. It's not the table size
that count's.
