I don't know where the idea of low cost came from, my imported bar came in 3k+!

Its not just older vehicles that are being left out in the cold when it comes to ADR complied bars.
The only "legal" option for a 05 to 07 Grand is ARB & 08 to 10 are left out in the cold as ARB have marked there bars as not suitable & Commander owners have been left out in the cold forever.

So there is a world wide market for airbag compatible bars right there, any takers.

My hand was kind of forced when I purchased my bar as it was the final run from the company & are now no longer available (company closed down).

I would of course have liked airbag compliance, so does anyone want to scan my "replacement bumper" and make an ADR version? .

It all really comes down to price / volume.

You may pay more for locally made bars that are approved ( DBOR / UNeek / ARB / TJM ) but some of that money goes into paying for the approval process so you need to decide if that's worth something to you.

If you buy a cheap import - well you've made your choice. Many just don't care a cheaper price is all that matters or style is more important than compliance. so vendors carry whatever sells.

And for those that "cant' get an ADR approved bar... there's nothing stopping you doing a DIY and going through the compliance process with an engineer assisting. Expensive compared with off the shelf but possible - especially if you can get a group buy thing going and perhaps a local manufacturer may even be interested in a small run if the price is right ( speculation ). Expensive yes... impossible no.
