G'day Briteway....

Was using Lucas 5W-20 full synthetic, excellent stuff but continuity of supply a little problematic here in Perth. Currently priced @ $14.00/liter. With the Lucas = no Hemi tick, MDS easily actuated....

I haven't really had the opportunity to compare over a distance/time that would reveal any significant comparative data with the Penrite 0W-30.
Missus has gone back to Uni so She is hogging the Jeep.....I am stuck with my work AWD Kluger....uuuuugh

I have noticed the Hemi tick now while warming-up from cold and then really quietens down when the viscosity passes through the 20 -30 range ? No noticeable difference with MDS behavior....yet.

The Penrite was $12.00/liter from Auto-One. Also happy that the Penrite is full synthetic and would really rush through the oil galleries on cold start-up.

I actually don't pay much attention anymore to the Evic fuel consumption I just KNOW IT IS NOT GOOD !....hahahahahahahaha
(I'll let you know if there is much difference)

Clarky, dust, water and diesel just clog the breather on your fuel cap if it does have one, doesn't matter how much you put in, though does sound funny that a check engine would come up because of a vacuum in fuel tank. Love to know the code that threw it, probably fuel pressure low. What sort of code reader did you order ?? One that reads all your Jeep systems will be a couple of grand and cheaper one will just read bog standard stuff which never does enough .

The light going out after i checked the cap could be a coincidence (I hope not), the hand book said I should get a “check fuel cap” on the IVEC display if it is an issue.
When I get the code I will post it.
I read somewhere on the web that the fuel system in my WH doesn't have a return line so vacuum/negative pressure in the tank could be the culprit.
I just ordered a wifi connector and am going to try an app for my phone,

Not the best option I know but will have to do till I can afford Auto Enginuity($500). Other forum members are using it on WH’s with positive results

Clarky, did you try the key dance trick to see if any codes show up on EVIC?

Sent from my S3 using Low Range

Yeh tried it dozens of times with no luck. Either I am not doing it right or they changed something on the 2006 diesel model.

Maybe... Maybe you're doing it while the EVIC is in 'STEP' mode. For it to work, you have to put the EVIC into the C/T mode and then do the key dance trick:

ON > OFF > ON > OFF > ON - and it should display where the odometer is.
