Can you please post a copy of the description you speak of?
A link would be great.

Never had a stall the way you guys describing .
Had the engine cut out once coming down a steep hill at about 40ks/hour and also cutting out a few times for a fraction of second on the freeways at 100km/h but since I've checked and protected wirring under the hood for possible rubbing against chasie or other things all those issues are gone.(not that I could find anything visible).
Not sure if the above is relevant to yours/mine engines IP but if it is it must be inbuilt in to the pump .
Must say that always add 200ml of 2 stroke mineral oil for every tank fill up to help with IP lubrication .

Along this logic I'm about to have my IP checked by a specialist, but I'm quite full now, so it will take at least a few weeks to get there. I'll report back when I have results.

Hi Peti,

wondering if you have had any success with this issue and/or what the IP specialist said?

My issue still persists and I have had what could be somewhat described as potentially "dangerous" encounters with this issues, especially when driving at high speed on the freeway.

I have written to Jeep about this issue with a link to this thread (as multiple XJ owners are experiencing the exact same issue) and will post back what they come back with

So having read everything that vux tried before fixing the issue by replacing the IP, it seems obvious that the IP is responsible for the stalling. I didn't want to come to this conclusion since it makes for an expensive fix but it does seem to be the most logical conclusion after reading through this thread.

Am I going to replace the IP??? Probably not, at least not yet anyway.

I've seen a few guys on here mention that they add 200 ml of 2 stroke oil to every tank for IP lubrication so I thought I'd give it a crack and see what happened.

I don't want to speak too soon but it does seem to be stalling a lot less. After I filled up the first time and added some oil, it stalled once or twice within the first 1/8 of a tank but not again for the rest of the tank. Didn't stall at all on the second tank. Filled up with just over 1/2 a tank after this and put in 100 ml of oil and has stalled once so far after using 1/4 of a tank (this was during the first few minutes of driving in the morning).

Thinking that the stalls on the first tank might be explained by the oil taking a bit of time to start working. Not sure about the most recent one, guess it might not be a perfect fix which would make sense.

I would be interested for some of you to try this and see what happens. I've added an image of the oil I been using.
