I have a WJ, as well as my XJ and i really haven't looked into how to upgrade the Grand Cherokee brakes. I thought they were already pretty good, 4 wheel disc brakes, each with two pots.
If i was doing an upgrade, i would just put in the best rotors and pads possible.

This mob recommends the EBC pads front and back (with Greenstuff in the back)..

"We noticed an immediate improvement in overall braking performance with the EBC slotted rotors and Akebono calipers with EBC Yellow Stuff brake pads in place up front, along with EBC slotted rotors and Green Stuff pads in the rear" http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/13...rake-upgrades/

Cheers,

I have just about run out of projects to do on the XJ while i wait for Dept of Transport approval to take it over the pits.
There are two small projects i am concentrating on now. One is some cup holders in the arm rest. I have the 95mm hole cutter and i am waiting on some marine stainless cup holders.

The other project is a minor parasitic draw i have. I have about a million accessories so it will be interesting to see what nick-nack is drawing the power.
I used this site on YouTube to help me..

I also grabbed this chart for a rough idea of how long my battery would last...

Current Drain:-------------------Days:

25 mA-----------------------------30.5

50 mA-----------------------------16.5

75 mA------------------------------11

100 mA----------------------------8.25

250 mA-----------------------------3.3

500 mA(.5 amps)-----------------1.65

750 mA------------------------------1

1 A-----------------------------------0.8 (19 hours)

2 A-----------------------------------0.4 (11 hours)

Doing the test, i am getting a 70mh draw. That's a bit above the recommended max of 50mh and means my battery will only last about 11 days.
I always use my battery isolator when she is parked up for more than a few days, but it would be good to figure out what is drawing the power.
Next few days, i will pull all accessory leads and try and find out...

OK, i did some testing.

Pulled all the power cables from the + posts including all the accessories and power to car etc. The main power lead to the car is pulling 20ma which is acceptable and within limit. The only other lead that was pulling any power was a very small lead running to the LPG system. It was pulling 50ma by itself. So, that is the culprit. Not sure what i could do about it, except when it is licensed, take it to the Gas place for its service and get them to check it.
Anyone else have LPG that pulls a bit of power when car is off?

Edited from 2ma, 5ma to 20ma, 50ma.

Cheers,

Its 20ma on one lead, and 50ma on the other for a total of 70ma draw when the car is completely shut down. Gives me approx 11 days before it kills the battery. I always use an isolator when its parked up. Do you think 70ma is worth bothering with, or acceptable?

Cheers,

Edited from 2ma, 5ma and 7ma to 20ma, 50ma and 70ma
