Default WK2 Boot Torch Charging

Hi, I have just purchased a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Diesel. The removable torch in the boot doesn’t work and I suspect it needs a new rechargeable battery. I can’t seem to get any power out of the charging base in the boot though. I’m guessing it should be around 1.4v as it’s a 1.2v battery in the torch. When should there be power there? All the time? With accessory on? With it in run without the engine on? Or with it running? Also where’s the converter located to take it down to a lower voltage? I’ve checked the fuses an they’re all fine. Cheers

Don't expect too much from the torch if you get it working, it's pretty feeble!

Mine was replaced under warranty. I've never used it!
My phone is so much better.

I haven't checked it, but there may only be power to the two contacts when they are pressed in so as not be shorted when the torch is out.

Cheers

I did think that but I’ve had the charging base out and tried the plug that goes into it and still nothing
