Question Fluid type for TC and gearbox for 05 GC

Hello,
i'm trying to find what fluid i can get for the TC and gearbox and i'm finding some conflicting info:

1) it's not clear if the car has the W5J400 or the W5A580 (or if they're any different at all), sadly the salesplate on my vehicle has been removed so i can't check the 3 digit code, i know it's a NAG1 at least(MB 722.6x).

2) As base the manual says it requires ATF+4 but checking fluid finders of different manufacturers i came up with: Motul ATF VI and Motul multi ATF, as well as Merc 236.14 specific(super expensive) and valvoline max-life multi vehicle
¿is it better to stick to ATF+4?

3) Transfer case, ¿if i'm not mistaken it's the NV245 TC?, according to the service manual it takes 1.8L, but motul fluid finder says 0.8L of Motul ATF VI -which i'm not convinced as the old TC used ATF+4 and grenaded thus got switches to the specific fluid-, in another jeep forum i found that they recommend Mobilfluid 424(but it comes in 20L drums, for a 2L use every who knows how many years!) -apart from the specific mopar fluid which is crazy expensive-

T/C needs a hydraulic fluid, Mobifluid 424 is the go.

Penrite ATF FS Multi Vehicle works fine but as long as you use a full synthetic ATF+4 it should be okay.

can't get Penrite over here, will have to check at alternatives(the brands and models i can get are the ones in the 1st post.

Some of those are super expensive as well.

¿how often would you change the diff oil for light on-road city usage mostly?, i'm guessing the 20K rating is there thinking about towing, offroad, heavy hauling, full of passengers, etc.

I put roughly 2lt of Mobifluid in the TC's of both our WH Diesels.
Seems to work fine. I believe its the same stuff that Mopar sells at a 10x markup.
Cheers,

Hi William.
If you have a Diesel engine then you have a W5J400 Tranny. Jeep recommends ATF+4. I think you will be able to find proper, licensed ATF+4 for not silly money. I do not like the multi vehicle fluids. I would just find the proper fluid. Mercedes fluid should be fine. They built the Tranny in the first place. MB236.10 was the probable original fill.

Where is 'over here'? If you are UK then their are some options for transfer case fluid. Give me a shout.

If you are interested, you can get your factory build sheet from this site.

FWIW. I have the Petronas Tutela Transmission Powergear4 in my Transfer case.

My diffs had Tutea Transmission X Road 75-140. I now have amsoil severe gear 75-140 in my diffs.

i'm in Argentina, and i haven't found many options.
I'm also trying to standardize fluids as i have... 4~ish cars(all turbodiesel ofc) and it gets expensive to maintain specialty fluids for each part of each one.
So far i've managed to standardize on engine oil for 2

but i was hoping for the TC or diffs but seems it won't be possible at first glance.

ohh that site is great, but it's kind of all over the place:
it says that i have QD2, then one page down it says QT2.
It also says "5-Speed Auto W5A580 Transmission"

The diesel transmission is known by several different names including - 5G-Tronic , W5A 330 , W5A 580 , 722.6 , Nag 1 and possibly others .
They are all basically the same Mercedes designed transmission but some internal parts and ratios may differ .
