Default Mystery animal like noise

I have GC 2012 limited, CRD, no quadra lift.
In last 3 months I have notice a stranger loud, animal like noise near front suspension. Similar to loud whale call, donkey call, 2 to 3 seconds long, it occurred about 8 to 10 times.
It happened without any constant pattern (not able to record or predict it), in general it would happen after longer drive/run, on flat level, always while jeep is stationary eg traffic lights or home driveway with fully depressed break pedal, transmission in gear or in park eg in garage.
I would suspect ABS system, break buster or hill descent system is starting to malfunction.

It is embarrassing as a “whale call” is loud and heard by occupants in surrounding cars and I do not tow a pool with a pet killer whale.
Any ideas what might cause it or any similar experience with a peculiar noise

If it were a petrol I'd suggest the purge valve on the fuel tank ventilation system which mounted on the inside of the left front suspension strut.
I am totally unfamiliar with your diesels ventilation system so have no idea

May not be the same cause or be of any help you, but uncannily similar 2-3 sec 'animal noises' can emanate from the a/c, and only when stationary or at a creeping roll. Mine does it periodically and others have also experienced it, differing views as to the exact component causing it though. Anyhow, the sound is more in the engine bay or firewall area.

Ac is a good call, I'd imagine the tx valve if anything.

I had a 2012 GC that made a similar sound, did it occasionally and intermittently and gradually got worse. I managed to get it to do it with a dealer tech in the car and straight away he said it was the evaporator and they changed it under warranty. I would try driving with the air con off for a while if you can and see if it does it then.

Yep, that's a good test. Mine never does it with the a/c off and not under pressure.
