Default So this just happened... car accident repair thoughts?

So 2 weeks ago I bought a 2007 WH GC 5.7L Limited.
I was just about to hit the go button on: lift, tyres, bullbar, etc.

I was having a lovely time, window down, hemi burbling away and then bam!
Someone ran up the back of me at a set of stopped lights, saw it coming and
couldn't do a thing, wasn't first in line, had I been I probably would have just
run the red light.

Anyway some photos.

So the damage to the body work is minimal (on my Jeep lol), new tailgate
and new bumper pretty straight forward relatively speaking. It has already
been assessed by the panel shop and just waiting on insurance approval.

But what has got me worried is that the rear left hand side sub chassis rail
has moved. It took most of the hit. The right hand side hardly got a scratch.
Here are some more pics.

The panel shop did not pick up on this. Maybe I should be going to a different
repairer... as far I can tell there are no other wrinkles in any other panels or
chassis components. In every other aspect the car is clean and straight as an
arrow.

The end result is it will have bumped the panhard rod forward by a few mm.

Should I be worried about this or not?

If the panel shop didn't notice this damage, you should most definitely change shops. The fact they didn't even bother looking underneath makes me worried about what finished product you are going to end up with.

Tell the next shop to get it on the hoist and check it all out.

I'd be sending those photo's to the panel shop that has done the assessment & asking them to take a second look.

That sub frame just unbolts too, so an easy replacement if it shows any damage. The whole Jeep needs to be put on a rack before you know if anything else has moved, so get a repairer who has one.

+1 everything said already.
Ask the shop (or a different shop.) to assess the subframe and alignment on a rack.

It can be replaced, and is the same on all models (aside from some studs for the vapour canister.) so relatively easy.
But you'd wanna know the mount points are still ok.
Aside from issues with the panhard, the fuel filler and associated stuff (vapour lines, etc.) run through the subframe and could be rubbing, and the subframe carries the towbar... so you wouldn't wanna take any chances.

Even if it's structurally ok, being out of alignment could cause issues down the line installing farkles which mount relative to the subframe. Like an aux tank, sliders, bash guard, etc.
