This experience day is running parallel to our February Janowen Hills Club Camp club camp, so everyone is most welcome to camp over.
If you and your vehicle are capable of some more challenging runs, you will be able to join the experienced members and head out on a run on Sunday morning as well. (At trip leaders discretion)

Adults: $15.00 per person per night
Children (5 – 15 years): $7.00 per person per night
Children (under 5 years): No charge
Facilities:
Septic toilets and hot showers are on site. Rubbish bins are also provided.
Showers require a token for operation, which may be purchased from the shop.
1 Token gives 3 minutes operation at $1.00 each.
Trip Details:
This trip will cater for all models of Jeeps, stock or not and is targeted for new members/visitors wishing to join the club. We will cover a number of theory based topics as well practical driving skills over the course of the day.
Theory components cover many aspects of driving, some of these subjects include:
• Vehicle types and capabilities
• How a 4WD works
• Tyre selection, inflation and use
• Pre-trip and during trip vehicle equipment and safety inspections
• Environmental Awareness
• Different techniques for driving in varying terrains
The practical component will give the participants the opportunity to learn and experience all of the different aspects of basic 4WDing in the field.
Some of the topics covered on the weekend training include:
• Principles of 4WDriving
• Stop stall key start recoveries
• Driving up and down moderate inclines
• Driving techniques for different terrains
• Approach, departure and ramp over angles
• Driving on side slopes
• Snatch strap recoveries
• Driving to cause minimal environmental impact
• Using Convoy Procedure
Minimum safety gear for all BJC trips:- Enclosed footwear is mandatory for all off road trips except beach trips
- Rated vehicle tow hooks front and rear. A Hayman Reese recovery adaptor is good for the rear tow hook.
- Snatch strap
- Two rated shackles
- Winch/Strap Damper
- First aid kit
- Fire extinguisher
- UHF two way, handheld is fine
- Visitors can do two trips
- Pets are not permitted on club trips
- Alcohol is not to be consumed by drivers or passengers on runs
- No illegal drugs or firearms are permitted at any time.
It is recommended that you- Take sufficient water and food for the duration of the trip
- Fill up with petrol before you arrive at the meeting point
- Take sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat.
The following trip ratings are used for BJC club trips:
EASY
Type of driving: Mainly high range 4WDing with some low range possible.
Locations: Typically, forestry trails or beach runs. Eg Mt Mee, Double Island Point, Condamine
Expected terrain: Mostly unsealed roads with minor obstacles and minor gradients or beach driving (hard and soft sand). May have shallow water crossings.
Vehicle suitability: Suitable for stock clearance with dual range and road tyres.
Recovery Equipment: Recovery equipment for every trip is as per club standards.
Driver experience: Suitable for all, including novice drivers.
