Default Auto Dipstick

Hi, was looking at a 2009 Grand Cherokee V6 Diesel the other day & I pulled the auto dipstick to find it had none, would it be missing or is this normal & if so how do you check its level.
Thanks
Mike

It doesn't have one and you have to check the level down at the fill plug on the side of the transmission. You would have to check the exact method as mine is the 8 speed ZF which is a completely different box.

These autos are 5 speed Mercedes 722.6 units.Correct length dipsticks are available on the internet.Correct level depends on atf temperature.Keep the top cap .You can not check by plug on the side.

Sorry mikelaw about giving you the wrong info!
Most autos haven't had dip sticks for years.
John.
