Default Front bash plate under an ARB bull bar

So I was told today that I need to get a bash plate fitted to protect my engine/sump for offroading and I was wondering what you guys think? I've got a 2007 jku with a ARB bar on it and 2"lift kit. Do you think I need one for starters, and if so what would you recommend and will it be easily fitted with the arb bar or is the bar irrelevant?

I've got the ARB bash plate. It bolts to the engine mounts and the cross member and covers the sump and exposed lines under the engine well. Too well

In order to do an oil change the bash plate has to be removed. A hassle, but I'm glad for the added protection.

EVO plates are different, more expensive, attach differently, and I can't comment on their function, but likely others in here can

I have the same ARB engine bash plate. Its solid, but oil changes are a bit involved. It has nothing to do with the fron bull bar. You can have a small separate bash plate under the bull bar that is to protect the radiator bottom and sway bar.

That's great news. Anything that you would suggest getting Kiwi?

I've got a bash plate under my ARB bar. It's separate from the bar and it only takes a couple of bolts to quickly remove it for access. Even though it's separate from the front bar, make sure you get one that's compatible with the ARB bar. Otherwise they might try and share the same mounting holes.

Whether you need one or not depends on what kind of
4wding you do. Having said that, it really is cheap insurance.

Don't go out and buy the most expensive one on the market. Have a look around, you will get one for a reasonable price.

The current price to supply and fit an ARB one is $575 which is ridiculous. From memory mine was around $150 but unfortunately Blackjack Welding no longer makes Wrangler parts.

I think mine is Black Jack Welding one as well. I had to tell them it was for a Rubicon with ARB bull bar. Sway bar mounting depth is slightly different for Rubicon with electric motor for disconnects.

http://www.uneek4x4.com.au/skid-plat...gler-bull-bar/ do you reckon this would fit the bill?
