Re: 4.0 high pitch squeal
To find a leaking intake or exhaust gasket, vacuum leak, sucking noise through a pipe or manifold, get a can of WD40 and put the thin red nozzle that comes with the can in the sprayer. Start the engine, distinguish the basic area where the noise is coming from and give quick squirts around that area. Don't soak it, just quick squirts where it sounds like it's leaking from. The spray momentarily seals the leak so to speak. When you hit the sweet spot and the noise or miss changes, there's your leak.

Re: 4.0 high pitch squeal
WD40 won't ignite spraying it on an exhaust manifold.

As long as the manifold is cold, once it gets a up to temperature above the flash point of wd40 it will burst into flames

Thats why I said short squirts. I have never yet had WD blow up on me. It will not ignite on a manifold. I'm still here and not burnt. I wouldn't have posted it if there was a danger. It's flashpoint is 131F/55C. It evaporates very quickly on heat. It need a direct ignition source to ignite.
