Hi guys, just wondering what people have done when they take it in and they have used the ProCal to change the settings on diff ratios/tyre sizes etc.

I just got off the phone with the service manager and he said absolutely they need to reflash it...

No probs. When you get home just plug the local back in and change it all back

Got mine done the other day at Bellbowrie Motors in Coffs Harbour.
Took them 2 1/2 hrs , gave me a lift into town and back to kill time while waiting.
Awesome service actually , well done guys.
3 recalls for mine
J24- (mopar towbar) not needed as mines not stock one.
S33- clockspring, covers and think they did something with the control storks as well, feels different.
J34- was for the steering damper , mine not factory so no need.

S43- passenger airbag recall parts not availiable till NOV or something so have to wait for that one apparently.

SeaComms is it ever really that easy..

The ProCal and the changes I have done just don't seem to like each other. My last JK had the same changes done to it which caused the ProCal to show a dash light flash 8-3 times and would not change any setting. Even to remove the VIN I got the same flash. As I was changing the axles and tyres over to my new JK it was ok as it was basically back to stock so when I sold it with the ProCal I explained to the guy that bought it it might not change anything but he didn't really care or understand.

Now here I am and after installing the different axle ratios/gear selections and tyre sizes I now have another 8 -3 flash on a BRAND NEW ProCal but the speedo is correct and the changes are working and no limp mode thank F. I actually called the local shop I purchased the unit through but they didn't really care or believe me as they thought the ration change would have left me in limp mode

But take it into Jeep and they flash it then I might not be so lucky.

Only option is to remove the ProCal from the VIN (if I can) and let them do what they need and then redo the ProCal flash when I pick it up if it has not gone into limp mode for them!

Its usually a patch for some F up they designed in or something they overlooked.
For example they patched the auto code to show "hot oil" when this was a particular issue.

The last thing I want is for a dealer to "update" my JK's software..... its fine exactly as it is complete with all its custom programming.

Its not that I don't trust their professionalism or technical expertise....... actually that's exactly why I won't let them near it.

As mentioned earlier, I was told that I needed the S43 (passenger airbag) and some other number (for towbar) recalls as well as the clockspring.

I just received a letter from FCA telling me that I needed to get S43 done, but "the part(s) required to provide a permanent remedy for this condition are currently unavailable for the (JK) Jeep Wrangler models." And they'll send me another letter when they have the parts...
