Default Added a light bar for some extra vision

I have dipped a toe in the water and added a LED light bar form Adventure kings. I went with the Lethal 20 inch bar. It was easy enough to fit, although the wiring had me stumped, but thanks to this forum and a couple of you tube videos it was all sorted. Seems to do the trick, certainly adds more light up front.

That combination or nudge bar and light bar looks like it is covering up your grill pretty well. Have you noticed any increase in engine temperature?

Cheers

Not at all. Have not noticed any change. Doing a nice long trip next week will keep an on it and report back.

That would be helpful!

Have a great trip - we are towing 1700 kg from Melbourne to Hervey Bay, up via Peak Hill and the campertrailers.org National Meet and back via Sydney.

Cheers

From personal experience with the Hankooks, you should expect to find noise increasing, and wet-weather grip decreasing around the 65,000km mark. They still had 'tread' left at 70,000km but were almost down to the wear indicators, and the GC was becoming quite tail-happy when, for example, applying excess power on wet roundabouts (as you do... ).

I changed them out for a set of Bridgestone D697s prior to a long trip north and for greater puncture protection on a forthcoming visit to the Flinders among other stops. Subjectively, the D697s are about as noisy as the Hankooks were at end of life, while the grip level is back to acceptable on wet tarmac, although less fun.

For a long time it was a straight swap front to back at the 10,000km service interval, a routine I fell into while owning a succession of Subarus. However, a significant pothole hit on the left front at around 45,000km on the Hankooks resulted in substantial 'feathering' on the inside edge that I didn't notice until the constant whirr-whirr noise made me think a wheel bearing was on the way out. After the necessary wheel alignment fix I changed to a front-to-rear diagonal rotation and that eventually wore down the feathered edge.

As an aside, the speed with which 550Nm of diesel V6 can motivate a 2.xT Jeep, particularly from a standing start, remains a source of bemusement even after 6 years of ownership.
