I have not found any information that says the 1st generation Trailhawk has a different strut compared to the Limited or other QL equipped vehicles. I did read the 2nd generation TH does have a different shock compared to regular GC's but it actually has less travel than my 2013 car according to the figures.

The rebuilding is of the air spring part I believe. The air spring can be removed from the shock, which leads me to think another shock can be refitted. Its going to depend on shock thickness, length, etc and once I can establish what will fit, I will source a rebuild-able shock to replace the factory one. I am in contact with a local company who can provide custom valving. I need to pull the vehicle off the road for a few weeks (which is not possible at the moment) or get a second hand QL front strut to start to make it happen.

I was wondering if the air bags would go over the Bilsteins. Keep us posted on how you go.

The answer is that yes they will go over but they will not but the bore diameter of the air spring is much larger than that of the OD if the bilstiens... which means that i can make it fit with some alloy and a CNC machine...
