Really wanting to secure draws in the rear of my commander. But, once you remove the 3rd row as you would know there really is not much in the way of points to secure. Not to mention the good as 70mm pan to lip height, one also needs to build up.
Have you secured yours through using the mount points available or by drilling bolts through the floor pan?
I am currently staring at the underside of the 3rd row wondering if I remove the bracket from the seats, could work? Probably not.
Insight into how you or others have done so would be great news to me!!
I made a frame that secured to the third row seat mounts, it stands level with the rear lip so works great.
On the right hand side I have a flat floor, on the left is a second battery and a fridge slide.
Under both sides is a space about 100mm deep to store everything from socket set, tyre pliers, snatch strap, spare parts etc.
Really looking how to do it. Do you have any pics? Thinking about just having a level fax floor 25mm below the lip. Then having the draws flush. The with a frame on top. This way I can have a frame tube running down to the spare winch knob.
For a different take on it, this is what I did regarding the ~70mm lip in the WH;
PS the timber is only in compression, just there to give height and a good surface to glue the carpet.
