Default U38 recall -rear control arms

There is a recall around the rear control arms.
Checked my 2006 Jeep Cherokee KJ 2.8 Diesel, and seems it is on the list.

I will be calling Jeep when I get back from holidays.

Mine is on the list as well. Do we sit tight and wait for the call?

Apparently the state or territory rego body is supposed to send out the letter. I called Jeep Australia to confirm I was down as the registered owner, which I am, and that was the advice I was given. If I remember correctly the recall says the parts are due in this month so hopefully the letters will come out soon. If it gets to next month I'll be calling the dealer again and chasing it up.

Got in touch with Keyster Jeep in Kippa Ring (Redcliffe) and the rear control arms will be replaced in on he 31st. Was told parts are still coming and that letters have not yet been sent. This is actually good timing as I was about to replace the parts anyway (work bushing).

Well I got my letter yesterday, so rang my local dealer today.

The letter clearly states the rear LCA will be replaced. The service advisor at my local tells me they will be inspected & if require replacing they will order the parts. I said that's not what the letter says, she says that's what weve been told this end.

On the phone to FCA right now, they confirmed the dealer is correct, replacement if required after inspection. its not a wholesale replacement program like the Front lower ball joints were back in 2006.

Rang dealer today as I got my letter yesterday.

Was told the same as @palla - no parts in stock, inspection only and if needed replacement. CBA arguing on the inspection -v- replacement so asked when can I book it in for the inspection - Not until mid Sept sir. WTF.

Called another dealer and was told - inspection to see if it's ok for you to keep driving, if not we'll get parts and replace with current version until we get the new version in, if ok then we get new version in and get you back for a replacement when they arrive. Asked when can I book in for the inspection - Does this Friday arvo suit you sir.

Guess which dealer I'm going to visit.
