Default XJ in Bluff (CQ)

Hey all

I've owned a couple of modded 4Bs including a red 2000 wrangler but never been on the forum before.
I currently have a XJ Classic in black with no mods but a heap of plans.

My cousins are on here and they got me signed up
Jishwa_ZJ and Digsy.

I want to do all the usual mods to it
including a 4.5 inch lift, 33s, lockers and a D44 rear diff.
Then kit it out for more distance camping and mild trail use.

Heres some photos as it sits and one of it in Cruiser Canyon

Nice looking Xj, saw it parked up on sunday at the expo site. Definately a good effort getting it through cruiser canyon without a tow, plenty of right foot action?
Hope to see it around the place sometime

Bit of careful line picking... little bit of damage...
Not too much throttle. Went pretty well.

The hilux in front had just driven the rock. Was pretty good to see...
I'm pretty sure the rock is bigger than when I drove it a few years ago, I think it looks more undercut...

The sidesteps are no longer on it... as you can see in his photos above... they made it out the other side but not the whole way home to Rocky!!

It's fairly suprising how far a stock jeep goes with alittle bit of carefull line choosing and carefull driving, but there is plenty of power to get outa trouble if need be.

Personally i'd rather ruin a set of side steps then the sills, sounds like they saved abit of damadge over the weekend and took a beating?

the old girl bottomed out a bit and damaged the side steps, as we were drivin the old girl had a strange rattle up, stopped at gin gin and looked it over and the right side steps had no bolts left in it, it was just stayin put by the little lip at the back, the drivers side had torn out 2 of the 4 bolts and the transfere case bash plate had pulled out of the chassis bolt and was flappin creating the rattle. so once they were removed she drove home nice and quite. she def needs the lift the old springs are so shot they sag 2'' below standard height.
