I'd be real keen to hear about someone running HIDs in the britax's. Any idea on cost for these?

If you ask either they will say theirs is better of course. After speaking at length with a guy I know at TJM, his belief is that the Britx are made to a very high standard on the free form reflectors. Given that they are aluminium not plastic they will prob last longer in the heat of the engine bay + lamp heat, but without seeing them in a side by side comparison it would be silly to guess if the price difference was noticeable in light output and control.

As I mentioned earlier I have a set of Britax (XrayVision) driving lights and all I can say is wow... Construction, finish, light control and output are by far the best I have ever owned.

And I could use the factory parking light connections. They have a fabric cover over the vent, so you can leave it alone or replace it with some tubing to have them vent higher in the engine bay.

Only if you were over the headlights in water & had had them on. Then as they cooled if you turned them off & the air inside cooled some might get pulled in, provided the filter was wet or immersed at the time.

I called jeep up for a quote to replace a headlight today because one casing is cracked.
They said i needed to replace the whole headlamp and quoted me $231, i was like fuarrk that!!! think i maybe going in the same direction as you.
