Question WJ keyless entry fobs- difference between Aus and US?

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to see if anyone know's about the differences between the US and Aus keyless entry fobs for the WJ's?

I picked up spare fob off ebay and have since been told by the dealer that it operates on a difference frequency than the Australian ones and is useless.

Apparently the easiest way to tell them appart is the panic button, as the Aus ones did not come out with it.

Has anyone had this problem and come up with away around it?

Thanks.

Tried the same thing myself about a year ago thinking I would save some money, but alas no luck.
The dealer is right in this case and I doubt very much if there is any way to modify the US key/fob to suit the Australian frequency.
In my case I had to bite the bullet and fork out nearly $500 for 1 working key and fob from the local dealer. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
At least it works.
Good luck!

Damn Chriso not good man ??????
Have managed to find a couple of sellers on ebay selling key fobs with the same part number as mine, I need one too and a transponder key.
does anyone know if overseas transponder keys are the same as aussie ones, is there any way to program key fobs and keys for a diesel other than the dealer?
I only got one key and a partially broken ie. button missing but working key fob with my Grand
Seems you may need two keys to program or something and maybe not able to program a diesel other than at the Stealership

I got stung with my WH (WK in the US) the same way. It was suggested to me that when you order from the US, order from a Mopar supplier, and provide your VIN to ensure you get one that suits the international models (WG and WH).
