Default trailer wiring

can anyone point me in the right direction to DYI wiring to a '96 Grand. it never had one and I want to tow te van etc.

Is that to set up a trailer plug ???? or tap in to power for trailer brakes ??

I want to fit a trailer plug for the trailer brake & tail lights etc.

I'm not really sure about the brakes but the lights are usually just tapped straight off one of the rear lights on the car. Brakes, parkers and one indicator come from one side and the other indicator comes from the other side. Just make sure you take the time to do them well as in solder and properly seal each joint otherwise they'll always give you the shits and in the end you'll just drive around without lights like everyone else.

Somewhere on this site it has a description on how to do it, http://www.wjjeeps.com/jmenu.htm even though it is for WJ/Gs it's the same.

Electric brakes you tap into a power source at the front and run the cable back to the socket, instructions on the control unit cover it.

Just make sure the connections are sealed up or they will clap out after awhile.

I see in the US they have plug and play adapters that apparently plug into an exising conecter at the back somewhere? plug and play has never been succesful with me and Jeeps......always a different plug somewhere! has anyone used this type of connection?

Mines got a Jeep tow bar and socket but a normal socket is piggybacked from the jeep one, will have to follow the wires and see whats ,what.
