Default Rear Tyre Carrier for my XJ

Just started working on my custom built rear tyre carrier.
I am utilizing 2 inch square tube with 1/4 inch wall (hitch steel) mounting it through the bumper and utilizing a trailer stub axle and hub (a lot of work on the hub to remove the wheel flange when you do not have a lathe.)
The Shaft is level with the bumper so that it does not interfere with the tail gate or obscure the tail lights in any way, nor will it affect my departure angle, and I am hoping to be able to lean the wheel towards the tail gate so that the centre of balance of the wheel is directly above the mounting arm (help eliminate flexing in rough conditions)
So far I have lots of pictures in my camera, and when project is finished I will put the full article along with pictures and drawings on here.

Angling the spare towards the tail gate did not work as it them interfered with the opeing of the tail gate so it is vertical and spare is in the centre (in line with the tailgate release) and with the 31" * 10.5" spare tailgate just clears wheel should have it fitted and ready for test run on Sunday. Working on the spring loaded catch that will hold wheel in the open position.
Heaps more pictures in my camera (non digital)
