Not too many options as most of the land surrounding Kalbarri is a National Park and the roads into the gorges although dirt can be accessed with a normal family car.

Having said that turn left at North Hampton and take the "coast road" to kalbarri. It's shorter and more scenic and if ya wanna muck around on the beach you can go to either Horricks Beach or Port Gregory for a drive on the beach. But be careful if you turn south on the beach at Port Gregory. It starts nice and firm but soon gets VERY soft about a kilometer later. Have fun!

Dunes on the Southern and Northern ends of Geraldton mate. Northern end is more legal to drive on. North end of Geraldton you'll go past the 440 Roadhouse(It's a Gull). After passing that take your first left turn. At the end of that road is a carpark. Look north and you'll see the tracks heading to the dunes.

Went up to Nanga Bay and Monkey Mia this year...awsome....

There are a couple of spots following the river inland in Kalbarri..plenty of beach driving also.....otherwise head further north for the good stuff......

You want some adventure go to Steep Point most western part of Australia. Turn left on Useless Loop Road which is about 41k on left along Shark Bay Road on way to Denham
