Yes, I tried the dealership, no support there, then the Australian customer service team many times without success including asking for the VIN-specific wiring diagrams. No support at all.

You are correct Drover!However same alternator go figure! As I said a few guys have pushed FCA hard and got a new one foc.same problem,same safety consequences if fails suddenly etc!

This is my alternator after pulling it out for replacement. USA for the same motor and EHPS fitted were recalled but not Australia.

Looks similar to my Colorado one which went up in flames, bearing collapsed, thankfully removal of engine cover meant the whole vehicle didn't go up in flames and my fire extinguisher did its job, I just bought a new one which if the Jeeps does the same its a call to Comet Batteries to send me a new unit ASAP, at least it comes with a warranty and I certainly wouldn't be going to a Dealer ............ I have a listing for a new diode plate but just can't find a place here in Oz, mind I haven't looked all that hard, replacing a diode plate would solve the problem but when you dig deeper the same alternator is on other vehicles, so might be a Jeep thing ???
