Default Oil leak in my CRD Commander

Just when I was getting excited about my CRD Commander going great guns with just over 8,000 kms, today I discover a small oil patch in my garage.

Looks like transmission oil to me. Have booked in with Peter Warren to have it checked. I'm hoping whatever it is, it should be covered under warranty.

Can't say how much oil has been lost. The Jeep drives fine, the gear changes are pretty smooth.

See attached pic of the oil patch on the floor.

Has anyone experienced anything similar like this.

Yes on the WH as well. The transmission will leak at the plug and also the oil cooler line which can crack and is a warranty item. Mine needed both to be fixed on my old CRD.

Yes, my Nov 2006 CRD Commander with 31,000kms on clock has oil leak rear of engine which was found after long weekend trip to Flinders Ranges ~30 seconds of blue smoke noted coming out from back of car by Adel Jeep Club members behind me. Car was towing ~1000kg camper trailer & no sign of any problem whilst driving. No oil on ground either but local mechanic put it up on hoist yesterday & says definite oil leak from rear of engine ?rear main engine seal - going into City Jeep (Adel) on Monday for proper assessment. May require gearbox removal to fix. Hopefully under warranty!

must be a standard jeep thing. We had the red puddle on the floor when the XH was reasonably new. Fixed under warranty and never had the problem again.

City Jeep found failed O ring in turbo intake hose & replaced it under warranty yesterday. They have had a couple of other cases with same problem. This leak is not same as others described above as not transmission fluid. Rear main engine seal was fine (thankfully).

Transmission seal is a regular fix on these according to my Stealer.
