2.7crd grand cherokee 2003 uk model diesel problem !
Hi there
Wonder if you guys can help . Started my jeep no problem the other day and went to pull out of my drive and the car just died . Plenty of diesel in the tank . I managed to start it with easy start squirted in the air filter but it only ran for a second which I'm pretty sure fuel isn't getting to the injectors .
I am a newbie when it comes to this car. I have located the high pressure pump (the triangular looking thing on the very front of the engine block . Can anyone tell me If this model (2.7crd limited ) has a lifter pump and where it's location is ?
I had the high pressure triangular pump replaced just over a year ago as it had a leak with a re-conditioned one so I'm not sure that has failed. I was told I could test this by disconnecting the output pipe and putting my finger over the hole whilst the engine was turning over . If there's alot of pressure there then its not that . Which is why I then ask if there is a lifter pump in the tank? As obviously I need to work out why fuel isn't getting delivered .
Anybody for any other ideas or as to if there is a lifter pump ?
Many thanks in advance .
Regards
Mark
