Not good for a 'kit' to be facing all these problems.

I reckon, I was hoping to save quite a bit of time by getting the kit. Would've been quicker to have done it the ol' fashion way.
Pics should have resized, sorry didn't realise how big they were

Once this is engineered I'm going to change out that manifold and air intake to suit a snorkel. Its a ridiculous path for the air to travel into the engine.

Ah nice best of both worlds then. It can be done pretty cheap if you can source the parts, now that i'm been through most of this I feel I could've done it without the kit. Nothing in it is technical (cept computer/ wiring harness which you can buy seperate), just a matter of patience and good planning.

Had a muck around with the transfercase and got all the shifters working good. These can be bolted into stock jeeps as well if anyone is wondering. I chose the 4 speed, being a manual I need super low gearing when on the rocks so I dont have to have my foot on the clutch slipping or trying not to stall. This has a low crawl ratio of 11.7:1 bit overkill but it lets me be at a standstill without stalling (for limited time). If you have an auto then an atlas 2 speed would be more then enough, unless you need the extra gears for whatever.

The single shifter you can see in the foreground is for the planetary assembly (or doubler, shifts everything down by 2.72)

These 2 shifters are for the front and rear axles and control high/low and neutral. Can have fwd only to do digs. Even at the complete loop they're at, they still shift good

Well I'm back for the rest of the year (yay!), and time to get this thing going. Basically in the mean time enzed re-bent all the hardlines for the power steering and aircon and braided the rest. Unfortunately he couldn't do much for the radiator hoses, so i've ordered a few goodies which may be able to do the trick, otherwise I'm just going to have to live with what i've got and change the hoses every 20K km, as they rub hard on the steering box.

Fans came in and look the goods
2x11 inch pullers and I got a 14 inch pusher just incase

Rear Driveshaft modified

And now just waiting on the shroud to be bent up and the remote oil filter kit, radiator recovery tank and the few hoses mention before to arrive, then thats the engine finally done.

Now onto the transfer case...
I'll do a semi detail thingy here as this applies to all JK's wanting the install. Basically the new 4 speed atlas that has come out is a bit longer then the original and clashes with one of the cross members.
This circle part here...

Will hit around here...

Now in my case it will be worse, as all the engine and gearbox gets push to the back of the jeep to get it to fit (around 25mm-ish), but I would see this happening on stock jeeps too.
You can go by this a few ways depending how you roll. If you don't like welding/fabricating then you could get by with a 1 inch body lift?? (doesn't make sense but that what atlas suggests, they may have answers for stock jk's) or the american way and just chop out what gets in the way (not legal here, though some french the frame which still isn't legal) or you move the whole thing back 20 or 30mm (which i'm hoping shouldn't be a problem for the DOT...unless they have another jk to look at on inspection day)

So since i'm not a fan of body lifts, first things first - remove fuel tank
Pretty straight forward

Then hack away...

enough space for some triangulated 4 link...pity thats gunna have to wait

And thats it for today, tomorrow I will burn in the crossmember to new location and fit the atlas in.

Alright, first to clean up the leftover bits and ready for welding

Clamp her in place, making sure all square n stuff

Then tack, weld and paint. I ground the welds smooth to match the rest of the factory welds

Getting the atlas in was a mission by myself, hoping my ol' man can give me a hand tomorrow. Its half the size of my gearbox yet weighs more (around 60kg), and with the little room underneath the jeep, I just can't do it safely by myself. Really should get a transmission floorjack But my shroud got all bent up, so I picked that up.

Its just some 3mm aluminium. Cut out some notches for the hose inlet and outlet then used the plasma to cut the fans holes out.
Plenty of room now
