Haha cheers, they're pretty basic but i'm getting better
Finally managed to get the t-case in. Took 3 jacks, some dodgy balancing and few lung fulls of cursing.
The transmission bracket conflicts a bit, nothing a grinder can't fix
Pulled the shifter cables through and hooked up
The third shifter I decided to put under the drivers seat. I would have preferred to have had it where the cup holders are, but underneath them are all the controls for the airbags and crashes sensors (presuming thats what one of the boxes is), and didn't want to mess with that. Having it next to the t-case shifters would have made the passenger's leg room even worse.
So first I made up the bracket. Make sure you measure first and don't cut 3 times like I did...serves me right for trying to rush
Then I had to move the drain hole as that where my bracket needed to be
Used the rubber grommet as a stamp to cut out the filler plate
Weld in and smooth
Paint it all and mount bracket
Then put all back together
Now the fuel tank needed some reforming as the crossmember I moved clashes enough for the mounting bolts to just miss
With some steady heating with a heat gun (once all the fuel is washed out) I pushed in the corner and cooled with water
Not much left for me to do apart from mounting the fuel tank and driveshaft tomorrow. Then I'm just waiting on the parts and axles which should arrive by the end of the month. Though next week I'm going to japan for 4 weeks so this tread is going to be pretty quite for awhile once the engine is going and getting checked by engineering and DOT. Though I'll make sure to post some vids of it starting and whatnot.
Once that is passed I might jump to doing the rollcage next, as the coilovers attach to it, which a company called cronic customs does cams spec roll cages. Then I've got to find someone in perth that can do suspension installs, I'm thinking jeep kraft, though haven't seen any of their work, so who knows...
Have a good chrissy everyone!
