CRD Oil capacity

Hey guys

Did an oil/filter change in the WH today, and used a whole 10 litre drum, but it only came half way up the dipstick?

The specs say 9.5 litres, but as I said, the thing took the whole 10 litres and still was only half way up to the full line. Is this correct?

I remember having a tad left over from
two five litre containers of Castrol

Check it first thing in the morning
before you start her up

Check again in the morning after it sits. The first 9 litres gets it around the half way on the dip stick, if you add another litre it will be at the top which is over full. 9.5 litres expands quite a bit when it heats up.

I know is changing the topic abit but what oil viscosity is veryone using for the diesel

I used Penrite HPR 5 Diesel - 5w-40.

Penrite Enviro plus 5w40 in the DPF model XH/WH.

9.5 litres is normally over half way in mine.

Remember to put roughly 5 litres in through the oil filter housing and the rest in through the oil cap.

Thanks guys so a 5w40 is ok, will be using delvac mobil esp 5w40 in mine
