I made my final version out of 25mm square tube 1.6mm wall all up weighs roughly 15kg including fridge slide

Here is the finished product tested it out over 10 days in the high Country in Jan and it works a treat

mountainman,

mate i want to put a false flr in my xj (99 td) . my main question is how you bolted to the flr ...o i supposes you drilled the tie down points to get them out then used these holes for bolts....i haven't had a good look underneath but can u use these holes for bolts ? are they accesaable from unerneath to slide a bolt thru (i have a towbar and bash plate over fuel tank)

any ino is appreciated

Here's how I attached my false floor. Easy to put in and take out. Just put some metal plate on the underside to make sure nothing can pull through, some big washers would also do the job.



Thats a fridge slide on the right with a board on it when not in use to stop stuff geting tangled in it and to stop it rattling.
