It's the bottom 2 of the 4 bolts that go through the front of the bar, into the winch and hold the winch in place.

This is all part of the load certification. In fact, I binned my 8.8 bolts and went 10.9.

In case it changes anything, they also have 3 lines in a Y shape, which according to a chart I was looking at makes them grade 5, which seems to have a similar rating to 8.8....
Keen to be sure as not sure where I'm going to find 2 M10 bolts of 40-45mm length rated 8.8, bunnings doesn't seem to have any.
Cheers

Here is a pic, it's the bottom 2 bolts that are a bit short due to the added space taken by the fairlead adaptor (the fairlead itself screws into the top holes you can see)

Any bolt shop should have what you are after. Personally I try not to buy bolts at Bunnings or masters. Usually significantly more expensive

Can anyone tell me if these will be a decent substitute or do I really need to use 8.8 grade bolts?

Do you have Coventry Fasteners or The Bolt Bloke over your way? Hardware shops are not the place to go for engineering supplies. Never go down on bolt grade, so 8.8 is the minimum to use.

If your in Perth go to somewhere like Rudds in Kewdale Rd. If that's not convenient, there are heaps of other industrial fastener outlets around. Use proper certified quality bolts. And yes, 8.8 is close to gr5. Just imperial and metric classifications.

Cheers all, I'll get some 8.8 bolts.
I'm Perth SoR, so Kewdale is easy.

Why are you needing to add the spacer for the fairlead?
