2 or 3 times after changing isn't enough I found it will may fire but miss then stop, I have done it enough times to work out about 6 is good for mine, it will just start normally on the 7th hit, no miss or hick up so all the air is expelled...........any other time its just hit the button and its fired up... I mention 6-8 because some will stuff up a key hit or 2........

Of course if you don't change them yourself its not a problem, so long as the mechanic does it correctly....

It will take quite a few dry runs to cause pump damage and it takes time to appear anyway, its not an instant thing, a tiny bit of metal will float around and chew things...
That’s where you can check by removing the gauze filter below the M Prop solenoid on the hp pump. You need to take the cover off, heavy sucker, disconnect the wires and a Torx bolt I think. I use a clean syringe to suck out the fuel and check for the dreaded filings or glints of metal. I have had a couple glints in mine back at 80,000 service but no issues. Remember super clean as the next stop after the high pressure side is the injectors

Hi folks, I am looking at buying a 2014 Overland, Can anyone tell me if the Off Road Group option is fitted to these as standard? I am thinking not as I'm seeing 20" rims on the ones for sale. This is the spec of the option:

Off-road Adventure II (Overland)
- Skid Plate - Front
- Skid Plate - Rear
- Active Torque Transfer System
- 18" Alloy Wheels

Not standard - it was an option. As you say, the only things it added were bash plates (front axle, transfer case, fuel tanks) and 18s in the Overland, compared to also adding Quadralift and rear LSD in lower models.
