Hello All.
I put a deposit on 2007 GC WH 3.0 Diesel Ltd with 180K+ km over the phone last week. It's subject to inspection and test drive, so I will get the deposit back if I don't like the car.
I had diesel VW Golf mkV for 7 years before without DPF but EGR issues emptied my pocket once and then I had to clean damn thing every year. German design meant to be standing almost upside down to unscrew EGR parts.
I would be less worried if this Jeep wasn't diesel but I need a car urgently next week and nothing (4x4 or RWD in SUV shape) was available within my very limited budget in Adelaide.
The car has service book in order. I will inspect it early next week and I think I will need to have a look under engine cover for any oil leaks around famous orange seals apart from general check-up.
I saw this car on the image - it has a red button on the left side of steering wheel like something add-on, no idea why and what it is.
I decoded VIN and didn't see DPF. Am I safe or it was encrypted?
Is this too risky proposition for daily car in Adelaide?
Thanks!
