Hi there,

I'm a coppa in Rockhampton mate and just letting you know its legal to run a 32in tyres but technically its an offence if the tyre sticks outside the guard. I think the 32in will fit on a 15x7 but its not ideal. Genally the largest you want to go on a 15x7 is a 31x10.5. Once your looking at 32x11.5 and 33x12.5 you need to look at a 15x8 rim which will end up pushing the tyre out even further from the guards.

I am running 15x8 american racing rims with 31in rubber as I will probably look at going to 33in rubber at some stage and that way I dont have to replace rims again.

Generally the boys in blue will leave you alone if you have only a small amount of overhang(say less than an inch) but having said that legally your still fair game with any overhang at all. A 6 inch set of aftermarket flares will fix that for you though if you want to play it safe, thats what I have on my setup.

Its more so the transport department patrol guys you have to watch cause they will pick you for any minor defect. Us coppa's generally have better things to do than hassel some dude with his rubber stickin out a slight bit(Although if a traffic branch coppa is on the road look out, he gives the rest of us a bad name!)

Hope this helps

The Australian Design Regulations say that the Tyre & Rim relationship must conform to the handbook of the Aus. Tyre & Rim Assoc..

Min. size rim in the handbook for a 32/11.50R15 is 8". (Also note that it is 8.5" for 33/12.50R15 & 35/12.50R15 - No tyre company, engineer or Police officer can change an ADR legally!)

Unfortunatley if we all adheared to every Australian motor vehicle regulation there is out there we would all be driving around in stocko TJ's with the only difference between our rigs being the colour, and that would truely suck!
