Got the new fuel pump delivered overnight from Wooders (Thanks again Dave) and got it installed late yesterday. It got too cold for me and dark as it was sitting where the tow truck left it to start up. Checked it all this morning and not long after the XJ fired back into life. Took it for a good run to make sure everything was all good!
can't even hear this pump running where the old one made a bit of a ticking noise for the past few years.

On another note I hit roo last Saturday eve at 6.30 of all times on a busy South Rd, just north of Yankalilla . I reckon about 4k damage. I have been told it is not right-off as I kinda suspected. I reckon most AJOR members would totally understand the feeling of relief when I was told the promising news, considering the 100s of hours & cash spent getting all the problems sorted, plus a few little upgrades. Two more weeks and I should have it back. I would post pics but I only have public internet access, which makes it hard.

4k?
how about a new chassis and moving all the fruit from your current vehical over? fancy a colour change?
mine is insured for 3rd party & fire. if I hit a roo, it is new xj time+ move the fruit- takes a week. and for $4000 there are plenty of options.
however mine is a toy not a daily driver, and therein is a huge difference.
good luck with it.

You can buy 'em from any auto parts shop, they are just a standard lens...

Puk.
There is a table of lengths required for UCA's & LCA's for different lifts on an XJ. When I added 2" to mine, I had a look at the different lengths & then shimmed to move the LCA's out to make up for the difference in length required. That is, I moved the pivot point instead of lengthening the LCA.
It has worked well with no wobbles occurring now.

Oh dear!! or should that be Oh Skippy !!
I hope you were not hurt.
Hope you get a new front bar & winch out of it!!
6.30, being just after dark is their favorite time for playing chicken with cars.
With a little luck the insurance co will do the right thing.
Good Luck !!

Got a link for this table?

Had a look under the bonnet today, there's a coolant leak at the thermostat housing but that's because I didn't have a gasket and had to use RTV to seal it. Only a minor leak, I'll fix it this week when I do the coolant flush. Also pulled the distributor cap off to check for play, there's a little so I might need to look into that soon too.
