Default Replacement Handbrake Lever Cable

I've tried a search but no luck.

The single short cable that connects the lever to the two cables to each rear wheel has snapped. Can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier or a part number so at least worst case I can get one from the dealer?

I had some throttle cable for the bike custom made. Probably by someone in this list... https://www.google.com/search?q=cust...ient=firefox-b

Probably be cheaper than a dealer...

Yes, this thought has definitely crossed my mind if I can't find one for a reasonable price.

Or you could go to a hardware store and get some cable the same width, get a swage tool and a couple of swages for under 50 bucks and make one up. Not sure how much the dealer would charge for one but it might be cheaper. Or you could use the little bolt on swages and some thread locker so they don't come lose. Probably a little bit dodgey but it will do the job for ubder $10.

Dealer can only supply the complete handbrake lever assembly ~$150. Second-hand (with presumably worn cable) is $90. Custom throttle cable joint is indicating possibly $50-70 for a custom made cable, will probably go this way, given I should get another 10 years out of it.

What is it with jeeps breaking hand brake cables?

The WG's also spit them out with a certain regularity, with 40 years of car ownership of dozens of makes I have never had to replace one handbrake cable until my daughter purchased a jeep now 2 in 5 years.

All sorted. Saw these guys http://atscables.com.au/cables.html

who whipped me up a replacement cable while I waited. A bit pricey at $66 but they got it sorted and reduced my "breakdown" to effectively 24 hours. Highly recommend these guys for any sort of strange cable you might need.
