Assuming that it still smoothly goes through its whole sweeping motion, it probably slipped a tooth or two in the gearbox and like Fishframe said, you have to take the wiper arms off and reposition them so they are at the lowest position when the motor/gearbox is in its parked position.
If it sounds like the motor is straining or the wipers seem slower than usual, then it might mean the assembly's joints could do with some fresh grease, possibly the gearbox too if you're feeling adventurous.
