Wipers not parking properly

So when my wipers stop they go all the way to the bottom and then back up a little so you can see them from the inside when parked.

Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

My thought is take them off and reposition a little lower.

Assuming that it still smoothly goes through its whole sweeping motion, it probably slipped a tooth or two in the gearbox and like Fishframe said, you have to take the wiper arms off and reposition them so they are at the lowest position when the motor/gearbox is in its parked position.

If it sounds like the motor is straining or the wipers seem slower than usual, then it might mean the assembly's joints could do with some fresh grease, possibly the gearbox too if you're feeling adventurous.

Now they’re not parking at all. They just stop wherever they are when I turn them off.

Any ideas?

It is most likely the teeth inside the wiper motor are gone. You can remove it and inspect it easily. If no damage clean the contacts and put it back to solve the problem. If the plastic teeth are broken you have to buy a new wiper motor.

My wipers motor did the same and stopped middle of the rain bomb in Sydney. I had to drive with no wipers for a week. I purchased a new one from amazon and it is working great.
