I have this on video so I know I wasnt imagining it, when I misted the window STEAM came out for the first few blasts then water. This happened several times. The under bonnet temps are huge when wheeling. On the the other hand the trans ran nice and cool lol...
This will have to be fixed before the weather gets warm again

Sheesh .. no wonder you lot are blowing batteries and stuff .... Still, at least you dont need to spend a fortune on some blingy hotwater system for your camp shower ....

Would appear that another, cooler location with a fan like in the other thread .... may be the go ??

Good to see someone actually measuring temps ... to work out whats happening.

Different vehicle but temp results may be of interest to you ...... http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...1&postcount=16

Tojo style vents ... or Itchy's rear TJ vent or similiar should drop your temps much the same as the bonnet spacer does.

Derale - Remote Trans Cooler
Type - Electra Cool
Part # - 15800
Specs - 16 pass, W 15 3/4", H 11 1/2", D 5", 10" thermo
Cost - approx $550 - 590

No mods, heaps space above rear diff, need to rubber mount, want it pulling air down and not pushing up onto body of jeep (too hot).

Cheers Mick

I asked my dealership about this quite a while ago. They said it did not apply to my 08 auto 2dr.

Very Sure, Engine temps did not go up, I suspect the thermostat dealt with the warmer air.. Heat build up under the hood has def increased.
I have mixed thoughts about the rear cooler. The mud would have caked it yesterday and the fan would have been cactus. No mud driving no issue but I do hit the mud.
I think this will be an ongoing issue for Jeep with this configuration.
Im not worried about venting it I just hope it pays off.
Im very keen to see what happens to my Brother laws temps when he gets his fitted next week.
Before the fit I could put my hand on the fuse box and it was very warm. After the fit I cant hold my hand on the fuse box cover without burning it (after some low speed wheeling) regular road travel is not an issue, but towing and wheeling (low speed) it starts to cook.

Hello All

Does it apply to 2010 unlimited Diesel Autos as well?
