Default Headlight Bulbs - H11 or 9006??

I had to buy a new bulb for my WH, so I went into Auto 1, only because it was there in front of where I parked and I remembered I needed a new globe. Normally I go to Bursons or Repco. I took the manual in and started looking up the globe type. At the same time the parts interpreter looked up his guide. He said I needed a 9005.

I said, no I wanted a 9006 which is what the Jeep manual said. My manual said I needed a 9006 for the low beam and a 9005 for the high beam. I thought I'd trust the manual from the manufacturer.

Well I went to change the globe. The one it had in it was an H11. And the 9006 was no where near close to fitting into the housing.

From Googling, neither the 9005 or 9006 have the same fitting as the H11.

Has anyone else had this experience? I'll have to take it back and hope they will swap an open pack for an H11. 9006 cost me $19.

I purchased some back in May of last year. They were 9005xs (also known as HB3xs), as well as 9006xs (also known as HB4xs).

There is a difference between the xs and non xs lamps. One has a right angle connector (9005/9006), whilst the other is straight, (9005xs9006xs).

Thats probably why they didn't fit. Also they had an o-ring that was a royal PITA in fitting the globe.
I spent 14 years working as a lighting guy in the music industry and these were by far the hardest globes I ever had to fit.
