Nunawading Jeep did mine. Not sure if they still have stock though.

Old thread revival. I just got my second recall letter (after ignoring the first), and I guess I want to check off the recall. I have already had this relay replaced twice (the original recall, and then a subseqent failure of the original) so it's warranted. The problem I have is "my Jeep will go back to a dealership over my dead body". Anyone had any issues getting it done?

A relevant justification of my reluctance is they couldn't diagnose the second relay failure and I suggested it given it was the exact same symptoms (cranks but won't start intermittently) and then they promptly charged me $120 for the replacement.

My 2nd recall was done alright by the dealer, at least it looked like a neat job. Standard of job likely varies between dealers and which monkey they put on it. I took mine home and replaced the cheapie straight away with a new Narva.

Similar to Farwest, I also put a new extended overflow pipe on the header tank to get it clear of electrics, can't believe the piddling little pipe they put on at factory which was perfectly designed to soak everything in sight if the coolant should ever blow off.

Ridiculous really, I extended the overflow tank hose as well after the oil cooler shat and I had water and oil spew all over the cabling underneath the expansion tank...

I usually take my Jeep to Seven Sot at Ormeau for those tricky jobs, Anthony is pretty good down there and completes any job in half the time a Dealer ever would...

That Seven Slot mob sound good, if you ever hear Im using them you will know I'm in it big time as they are bluddy miles form me, I would have driven past quite a few dealers by the time I got there............

Old mate in Blackall years back had a new WG Grand , would migrate to Brissie for a service, I laughed at him, Blackall to Brissie , no dealer is worth that, broke down on way back because dealer forgot something, he threw it on a flat bed back to Blackall and the Case tractor place looked after it ever after with no dramas...........

Ok I think I'll just do the relocation myself and change to the Narva Relay ($15 at battery world), getting a spare as well. Nice heads up on the overflow hose, I'll do that mod for sure now I've seen it.

This is the relay I've ordered: NARVA 12V 40A/30A Change-Over 5 Pin Relay with Resistor NARVA 68044BL

Yeah I'm in Bris too and I've been keen on Sevenslot as they have a good rep, but they are just that bit too far to make it convenient for a drop off / pick up. I'm currently using Hammonds who I used with my XJ. They are nearly as expensive as the dealers TBH, but I've liked the quality of the work so far. They seem to be genuine with information. I'll pay the money if I can be confident in the work.

In case it helps others, Bunnings also stock the Narva relays.
