Default Headlights when unlocking

Hi all
Just after an answer or link to a previous post(alternately if it is in the manual you can just tell me to stop being lazy and read the manual too).
Can anyone explain how to disable the headlights from coming on when unlocking the vehicle, seems unnecessary to me to have them come on
Cheers Toby

P.S. - this is my first post as I have only just recently got hold of my first wrangler, JK 4dr CRD Auto, F&R ARB Bar, F&R ARB Lockers and Longranger. Have been a Nissan owner previuosly but wishing now after the last week that I had seen the light earlier and made the swap both I and my partner cannot wipe the smile from our face when in the driver’s seat. Planning out first little jaunt into the dunes this weekend can hardly wait

Nope, cause its not in there

It can be done through programming, but not user programming. The dealer has to do it for you. I just flick the lights to parkers then back off, that cancels them straight away.

Oh and welcome to the forum and the land of JK's

Having the headlights come on when you unlock it is great in some cases such as in the unlit work car park when it's dark. It means I can unlock it from the other side of the car park and then avoid tripping over the pallets and boxes that are lying around.

It is a real pain in other cases though. Imagine the scene.....a nice, peaceful, serene campsite just after dark and you need something from your car. Unlock it and all of a sudden the campsite is lit up like a football ground on match night I did find out that if you unlock it the old fashioned way though (with the key) the lights don't come on. Only found that out after a few nights of waking up half the campsite.

Requires the use of a professional scantool... i used a Bosch one and of course the dealer can do it for you. Apart form the points listed... it takes a load of the battery as well.

I also managed to turn off the blink indicator on lock / unlock... as an experiment but on reflection will activate it again.
