Man, those clean old units need to be kept that way and not modded (too much).

If you want to lift and go silly, do what I did , get one thats long in the tooth and already full of dents rust and crud.

My lift consisted of 2" body lift (plastic puks and longer bolts)- about $200 all up. Had the std springs recurved- about 3 inches in the front and 2 and a bit in the rear- at a spring works for about $400. Then 2' blocks in the rear and 3" longer JKS shackles in the front, about another $300odd.

Oh, 2nd hand rancho 9000's as well, and 2nd hand JKS disco's too.

All up over 6" of extra guard clearance, (a bit of guard trimming with a grinder), now runs 35x12.5x15 Centipedes with only a touch of rubbing in the rear under full flex.

it was until i took two train trips, a bus trip and a flight to melbourne with an 11 hour drive home....

Here's mine just got it and it's my first jeep don't know what Im going to do with it but you know, it's a 79 and is pretty rough not much rust in the body the bloke said that it didn't run took me bout 5 min and then drove it home
